Potty Training

Well here he is trying to poop in the potty. He was looking at his potty book. Love the underwear around the ankles. I had to capture the moment. He peed about 4 or 5 times today in the potty and wet his underwear once. We put a diaper on him at bedtime and he asked me for underwear. He must not like the feel of a diaper after wearing underwear all day. We are gonna keep trying. Gotta have him fully potty trained in 7 months. And here's another short video for your enjoyment.

Little Gentlemen

Well here they are all dressed for church. Jacob in his first suit. He likes to dress up for church like daddy.

He's still very excited about this new baby on the way. He sees commercials for toys on tv and says when the baby comes out we can get that for her. I have to remind him that we don't know if it's a girl yet.

He asked me the other day out of the blue, "how's the baby in your belly mommy?". It was hilarious!!! Notice the link on the right for the baby's blog. I put my first ultrasound and will put more as they come.

First Ultrasound

I go to the ultrasound specialist October 10th at 3pm to get a 3D of the baby and look for any birth defects. We also hope to find out if it is a boy or girl while we are there.

I have not felt much movement. Just a few little flutter's here and there. I can't wait to feel some more. I haven't been sick much either. Just have to make sure I don't get too hungry because that is when the nausea sets in.

My estimated due date is April 11th. Thank God a winter pregnancy. I am so hot natured. This should be nice.

I will post again when I know more.

Finally learned to use his top lip

I love this! I have worked and waited and prayed for the day he could pucker that top lip and he has finally learned how. I pinch the top lip all the time holding it for 3-5 seconds and we work with it during therapy twice a week also. One more step to looking and talking normal. Thank the Lord!

For those who are not familiar with a cleft baby this is a major step in the right direction. This for me is like watching a not cleft affected child learn to ride a bike for the first time. Not all cleft children can move their top lip while talking, unfortunately.

BIG "5" YEARS OLD

After a blue sucker...
Blowing out his candle on his Thomas cake!
Just posing so handsome...
Showing Jaron how to pucker...
Eating some cake while Jaron enjoys his Thomas train off the cake.

Jacob is something else, let me tell you. He got down from the counter while eating his cake and came to me and kissed me on the cheek and said "Mommy this is the best birthday ever!" I almost cried. I felt kinda bad because we didn't have anyone over and no presents to open. We had already given him stuff a few days before and others had sent him money or gave his gifts early. But he didn't care. He was happy! We put all his money together and got him a bike (with training wheels) for his birthday. He loves it! I'll try to get a picture soon.

Puckering

Jaron knows how to blow I was trying to get him to pucker his lips while blowing. He did it few times but of course not while the camera was on. So better luck next time. But I got a few close ups anyway.

He has also learned to suck through a straw!!! THANK GOD! I thought he would never do it. Wednesday was the first time he did it. I guess the ear infection is gone. But now I think he is trying to cut some more teeth. He still only has 4 on top so he keeps his entire hand in his mouth most of the time.

I have told him I have a baby in my belly and anytime I show him my belly he says "baby". It's cute but I am sure he doesn't understand the reality of it.

Almost 5 Years Old

Well Jacob has a birthday coming up and I can't believe he is going to be 5 years old. Times flys!!! He wanted me to take a picture of him with his bear. It has his name on the front of it. Anyway, he still tells me he loves the baby in my belly and keeps saying she or her. I have been telling him don't say that because we don't know and I don't want to get my hopes up and then be wrong. I would rather just wait and see. But he is excited about me having another baby. He already tells me things we can buy for it.

Ear Infection

Jaron put on Daddy's army hat just like this and I had to get a picture. It was hilarious. He looks so serious like "what are you looking at?" Right now he is trying to get rid of an ear infection. He started Amoxicillan last thurs. and he was not getting better. He is not sleeping and is very cranky all day long. So I took him to the doctor yesterday and she said the antibiotics were not working for we switched him to a different one. Hope this takes care of it.

Chocolate Donuts!

Another creative train track that he insisted I get a picture of it.
We let him have a donut with chocolate icing and he got it all over his face.
This is what I got when I said "Smile"
No for real just smile normal.

Jacob is getting so sweet. He tells me all the time he loves the baby in my belly. He told me the other day "Mommy you can't eat food you have a baby in your belly."

Chris took him to the fleamarket last weekend and he said "Daddy, A-T-M, what does that say?"
Chris told him it is a machine where you put in your card and push the buttons and it gives you some money. To which, Jacob (with his brilliant mind) responded, "I want one of those."

He is all better from tonsils surgery and back to eating normal foods again. Now he wakes up at night with leg pains. I guess it's growing pains. It won't be long and I am sure he'll be taller than me.

Growing together...

Jaron was sitting on our bed with Daddy looking at the baseball card book...so cute...
And here they are my handsome little boys ready for church Wednesday night. They are growing up so fast.

Recovering From Surgery

Well Jacob had his tonsils & adenoids removed Aug. 14th and the recovery hasn't been very easy. It hurts to swallow and he cries in his sleep a lot with pain and wakes up nauseated a lot too. So we are trying to get past that. He is hungry but can't swallow to eat so he eats a lot of soft things like yogurt, applesauce, icecream and lots of ice cold water. He wanted me to take a picture of the track he made and thought he should lay down and be in the picture also. So here it is. One of the smaller tracks he has made. He gets very creative with these but this just shows you that he wasn't felling good that day. His bottom tooth is also lose so he'll be losing that soon. Anyway, we are expecting our third baby and Jacob is already talking to my belly and I am only 7 weeks. He wants a sister but is quick to tell anyone who asks, "We don't know yet". He is excited that mom is getting another baby. When he is fully recovered I plan to start a homeschool routine with him so we can get on a schedule. He actually doesn't have to start until next year because he won't be 5 on Sept. 1st. But I would like to start him now on some basic things. Sorry it took so long to post. I will try to get some more pictures this week.

Better Late Than Never

Well I usually try to post every week but have been a very big slacker and waited almost 3 weeks this time. Jaron is doing good with therapy and seems to be getting a little taller just not gaining any weight still. We are expecting our 3rd child so Mommy has been a little tired. Not to mention Jacob had his tonsils taken out and the recovery has not been easy.
So here they are laying together on the couch early in the morning. Jaron is learning to make new sounds in speech therapy and has started picking up his spoon some to feed himself. Things are progressing. He has also started to chew some things too so that was exciting! Sorry it took so long to post I know there are some grandparents out there who were patiently waiting. Oh and I can't forget to mention we have been trying to potty train him also so things have been kinda crazy around here.

Clowning Around

This hat is so silly and when we go to our friends house he likes to walk around with it on all day. He knows it is silly and will just look at you so serious.
Here are my little patriots fans! And notice Jaron, like always, On the move!!! He was running toward the camera.
And this was taken last night before we left for church. They look so cute in that orange. Jaron is starting to potty train as of today. He peed in the potty before his bath tonight and I put underwear on him afterwards. He wet 2 pairs of underwear and peed in the toilet 4 or 5 times before bedtime. We'll see how long it takes him to get the hang of it. He is still only 25lbs. He has started chewing some and puts the spoon to his mouth only when told. The only vegetable he will put in his mouth willingly is peas. (you know it's a green ball) I know it is all behavioral but we have to get past it. So we are still doing therapy once a week for feeding and once a week for speech. He is trying to talk more too. Until next time...

Patriots Fans!

And here they are "Daddy's little patriots!"
Of course he wanted a picture of the clown hat after brother got his taken.
And this is what happens when you leave a laundry basket on the coffee table and leave the room at my house. They were CRACKING UP LAUGHING!!!

Our Vacation

We were on our way out the door for church and I had to get a picture with my "Big J".
Jacob went fishing for the first time on vacation and caught 2 fish. This is one of them. He didn't want to touch it though.
And here is is with his great grandpa reading the paper. He said "mommy you have to be quiet we are reading the newspaper".
Oh and on the plane on the way home he said "Mommy I want to get out on the wing" I said Jacob do you see anyone else out there? You will never make it buddy.
And this morning after eating his cereal he proceeding to put his bowl in the sink as usual but went the extra step by getting the wash rag and wiping up the milk he spilt on the counter and put the wash cloth back in the sink. He is growing up too fast! Vacation was good but it's always nice to be back home.

Our Vacation

Here I am holding my handsome little man walking out the door for church.
And this is in the airport in Boston. A kids play area. I don't think he was supposed to stand on this, but you know Jaron he will climb on anything possible. He jumped off several times too!
This was also in the play are for kids in the airport. Here they are taking flying lessons. Or should I say jumping out of planes lessons. Jaron couldn't sit still.

Another Cool Dude!

And of course since Jaron got a picture with my glasses Jacob wanted one too. They are both so funny and they know what it takes to make mommy smile. Jacob went to the dentist Tuesday and they said it might be a while before his top tooth comes in but he should be losing the bottom front teeth soon. No cavities!!! Oh and he has also been complaining of leg pain at night so I explained to him it is growing pains and he is so excited he is growing. He tells everyone about it.

Cool Dude!

Jaron can't resist Mommy's sunglassed. These are the latest ones and he looks hilarious in them!!!
And here are the boys all dressed up for church. Obviously not feeling good. They never sit still like this anymore. Jaron has an ear infection and congested and Jacob is coughing and congested too.

July 4th (too loud)

And here they are...they dangerous duo. They are so sweet when they are sleeping. This was at granna's house on July 4th. Jacob said "look mommy we are twins" as he laid down beside him. It took him about 3 seconds to fall asleep after a late night of fireworks and lots of excitement. He was loving it! But when I kissed him goodnight he said "Mommy, I don't like fireworks." What!?!?!? I thought you loved them. He said "No they are too loud". Oh well better luck next year. He has been using some big words lately like calculations and actually and lots of others. He has started asking me why and what about everything. It's official he is at the "WHY" stage. It's driving me crazy but I am trying to be patient and explain everything. Like why are the yellow lines on the road? and What is a knee? And what does lie mean? He loves to walk around the house with a pen and paper writing notes and bossing Jaron around. And if he could have it his way, he would ride his scooter from sun up to sun down. Rain or Sunshine. He has fallen in love with the girls in the previous pictures and wakes up asking to go see them. So all I can say is Watch World cause here he comes!

Swimming July 4th

We went to Jaron's Granna's house for July 4th and this is what the boys did all day. Jaron loves the water, no matter how ice cold it is. This is right when he stepped in, notice he is sucking in because it took his breath. But he still played in it for an hour or more.

He didn't get a nap today so he went to bed at 7pm before it was even dark so maybe next year he can see some fire works. He sure did have fun though once we hooked up this slide into the pool.

Right now he is sick though. He hasn't been sleeping good at night, waking up 2 or 3 times a night and messing with his ears alot. Also he is chewing on the coffee table a lot and the window seals. He is trying to cut his pointy teeth on the bottom and some on top too I think. It's hard to get a look in his mouth anymore. He won't sit still long enough. So I took him to the doctor today and they said yes his ears are infected and he is on amoxicillin for 10 days. Also they gave me so samples of decongestant/antihistamine for the green sinus and nasal drainage he is having. I hope he feels better soon cause this lack of sleep is about to kill me!

On a more positive note he is smarter than I realized. He was pointing out all the shapes at the doctor today. I draw shapes for him all the time but when weren't even talking about them and he just started saying "oval, square, circle." I almost fell out of my chair. THat's my boy. And we have taught him to say "I two" but if you ask him how old he is he'll say "five" and hold up 5 fingers with a big grin. He can also count to five on his fingers and he knows all the colors. He might not be able to talk very good but he can still learn.

What a BIG BOY!

Here are a few more pictures of our little vacation the other week. He was a little hesitant at first but since the girls were doing it he had to try.

And it didn't take long and my little boy was doing back flips!

Then they raised him really high and he couldn't even jump they were just pulling him down and flinging him to to the sky! He LOVED IT!

And of course he had to try on the blue's clues ears.

And our little train conductors.

Two Years Old

Jaron got a new Georgia Bulldogs outfit for his birthday!

This is what he looked like when we asked him how old are you? Kinda shocked, ya think!?

We had our friends over and this is what Jacob called a "pool party"!

Instead of a birthday hat for Jaron we got blue's clues ears! He loves that show!

And they are with their Thomas hats on just after a bath.
