Supermen!

Both of them are wearing their superman pj's with the capes on the back! Jaron looks like he is trying to fly.

Sharing the blanket and drinking their water together. Sometimes they are friends and like to play together-SOMETIMES!

SUPERMAN

New PJ's with little cape velcro on the back!!!

This is what happens when you spend all day at the Kia dealership and miss naptime...

Jacob was on Noggin.com and Jaron will not let anyone sit at the computer unless he can sit there too so we captured the moment.

Splashing & Mowing

Well Jacob did not want shorts or underwear but I assured him that the neighbors didn't now want to see him naked so he had to atleast keep his underwear on. He is not as easy going about water like Jaron but he was getting used to it. It was cold and going down the slide was risky cause if youd didn't stand up quick you were going to be sitting down in the cold water. One time he did. But didn't cry, he toughed it out and went back for more.

Jaron would not even go down the slide suprisingly. Jacob was trying to talk him into it but Jaron was smart enough to know he was going to fall it the water and he wasn't ready for that.

Here they are in the front yard playing with their bubble mowers. Jacob ran all over the place with his never stopping. I think he was trying to see if the bubbles would run out. They never did. Wouldn't you know that the thing doesn't work right on hills and our whole yard is a big hill. So they have to drive them on this flat part of our driveway. No biggie! And I have to post this since I forgot to the other week. Chris had to go have a procedure done and I had to be there to drive him home afterwards. Well we went into recovery and he was coming out of the anesthesia and very groggy but dressed in his normal clothes with a blood pressure cuff on his arm. Jacob seemed concerned asking what was wrong with daddy. I told him they gave him some sleepy medicine and he was just tired. But Jacob looked at me and was WHITE as a ghost. Even his lips were white. He passed out!!! I was holding Jaron and had to grab Jacob before he fell down. I managed to get him up on the bed with Chris and he was OUT! I couldn't believe it. He eyes were closed and he felt like he was sweaty. After a minute he woke up and said "Mommy but I'm ok I just need some water". The nurse said it is common in kids his age. He is more aware of what is happening. On the way home he saying "Mommy daddy's ok". And I was telling him daddy is just sleepy and trying to make light of it. That was on May 3rd and he stil talks about it every day. Must have been traumatic for him.

Splashing in the Pool

Well I let them play in the little pool last week but it just wasn't warm enough. I just filled it up so the water was kinda cold but they didn't seem to care. Even though it was 80 degrees here the trees give a lot of shade so there is only a 2 hour window when they can go in the water. I don't want them in it when the sun is behind the trees.

My boys love the water. They would have played all day if I let them. They only way I could bribe them to get out was to get in the bath...MORE WATER! Jaron is cutting about 4 teeth at once right now so nights are rough and sleep is rare. He has a new bad habit of waking up at 6AM every morning too! But that big smile when I walk in just grabs my heart and I can't resist. I have to get him out of the bed. He is hungry and ready to RUN & CLIMB! That is all he does most of the day. Maybe he will be a mountain climber when he grows up. Or in the olympics, who knows. But trust me he is GOOD!

Little Man...

Jacob asked me to get the camera and take a picture of him on the couch. And the others are him wearing Daddy's hat. He's my handsome little man. He told me that we need to get a baby sister in my belly. He wants another one. Well I am not so sure about that right now. My hands are kinda FULL! So I told him "we'll see." He also informed me the other day that I am short and maybe I need to grow some more. How cute. Some of the things he comes up with...it's always something. He told me about 20 times this morning at church "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy." He just hugged me and kissed me and was so sweet today. It makes it all worth it.

Gaining some weight

Jaron is getting smart with the bar stools. he pushed this in the living room on his own. Anything he can find to stand on that will help him reach the VCR & DVD player. He loves to push the buttons. And in the first picture he is wearing Daddy's patriots hat. He is finally getting some more teeth on top and on the bottom. He weighed 25.5 today so that means he's gained a pound since surgery. I have been buttering all his food! :-) He also seems more talkative. He knows his colors too! He can't speak clearly but we are working on it. For example when he says pink it sounds like "ink". The gagging reflex seems to be coming back a little since the last surgery. I hope he doesn't start throwing up like he used to. Anyway enjoy the pictures.

Leaf Cakes!

Jacob looks more and more like daddy every day. So handsome and so sweet when he wants to be.
This was cute! He piled the mulch in the flower bed around a stick in the ground and said "Mommy, I made a leaf cake!" He was so proud.

Doing good post-op

Well Jaron seems to be back to his old self for the most part. He is running and playing with "bubby" like always. They are so funny! We all seem to be having some allergy problems with the pollen right now but it will pass. I am pumping them with straight vitamin C. Next possible surgery could be when he's 5 years old. If not then, it won't be until he's 9 or 10 years old. Now we just need to focus on therapy to get his speech perfected. And he still can't suck a straw or bottle or anything so we still have to teach him that too.
Here's a good close up!
And there he is climbing on the bar stools that we laid in the floor so he wouldn't climb in them so now he climbs on them.
And this is his favorite thing to do-walk around in mommy's shoes. He's pretty good at it actually.
And this was a brave attempt to ride brother's scooter. He didn't get far.

Sharing...

Here they are my two handsome little boys. This was taken before Jaron's recent surgery. They are sharing goldfish, the chair and the blanket. And as Jacob would say "points for that!" He is hilarious! He gets points for sharing with Jaron, cleaning his room, helping mommy, writing ABC's and so on. Its our way of rewarding him for doing good and trying to focus more on some positive things. He loves it! Once he gets 100 points he gets a new prize AKA cars movie cars or new wooden train.
And here is our little man in his first suit. He was definately chillin' that day! WHAT A CUTIE!!!

We're Home Early!

This was in the hotel the night before surgery. Still a professional climber.
Here he is 24 hours after surgery. His tongue was swollen and there was some concern about his breathing so they gave him steroids to help the swelling go down.
And here he is back at the hotel 48 hours post op and after his bath. You can see his chin is a little bruised.
And finally our flight home. I was blessed with an empty seat beside me this time. We just so happened to run into the surgeon in the cafeteria at the hospital Sat morning and he said hey come up to my office and I'll check him out so maybe you can go home early. So we did and he was happy with his palate and how it's healing so we changed our flights and rushed to the airport. THANK GOD we are done with all that!!!

Out of the Hospital

Well Jaron slept better last night and was awaken this morning to the doctors in his mouth. They had to remove the packing from his palate so he could eat. He ate some applesauce right away and drank some and went to sleep. He is only taking tylenol for pain. His chin is a little bruised from the work that was done but other than that he looks back to normal. I am so glad to be out of the hospital. He is back asleep in the room now with my mother. We are going to see the surgeon Monday morning for a post op visit and our flight leaves at 1:45 if all goes well. Thanks for all the prayers. I'll post pictures when we get home.

Jaron's 3rd surgery

Well we got to Boston yesterday "by the skin of our teeth!" It was a rough morning let me tell you. I got up at 4:30am and was pulling out of my driveway at 5:30am to miss Atlanta traffic. When I heard a "thump, thump, thump I just put it in reverse went right back in the driveway. My husband was home thankfully and between the two of us we finally figured out how to get the spare out from under the van. Only to find out it was also FLAT! So he moved the van out of the way on the flat and we transferred my luggage and the boys carseats and I drove his Dodge Truck. It was a little awkward and big but I made it in the traffic to the airport only to find that there was NO PARKING. I had to park and the VERY end of economy parking and I RAN literally to the terminal. When I swiped my skymiles card to check my suitcase the screen said "It's too late to check your bags". WHAT! I just ran my legs off with no breakfast all the way here and now you can't take my suitcase?!?!? I was in tears at this point and I begged the ticket agent to get me on this flight. She said "sorry mam you can just take the next one." NO, I have to get my son to pre-op he is having surgery tomorrow. She saw my concern and spoke with her manager. She came back and I think she broke some laws but she took the suitcase and told me to hurry! I ran to the gate and was the last one to board the plane. So much for going potty. I sat down and took a breath...Jaron was crying and hungry. The wet diaper would have to wait. So I fed him and we took off. He went to sleep and I was restless and still nervous if my suitcase was on the plane or not. So we landed with no problems in Boston on time at 11:15am. I then had to get a cab to the hospital. His pre-op was at 1pm and we got that over with. So finally we checked into our hotel across the street and got to relax. Jaron was climbing all over the room and glad to be free of the stroller. My legs were so sore from all the running, it is more excersise than I am used to. We slept alright and woke up this morning and headed over to surgery. He went back with the nurses at 8:30 for his fistula repair and pointy chin issue. I am trying to kill time by posting here. I will try to post in a couple of days to update his progress. We should only have to stay one night in the hospital and then back to the hotel for a couple days post op before we return home on Monday. Thanks for all the prayers. Oh and incase you didn't know, we made a total of $2500 at the benefit yard sale. PRAISE GOD!

Home Depot Boy

Well here is Jacob in the same little apron Jaron had on. He isn't quite smiling here but he was happy. I took it off Jaron to let Jacob wear it and he ran all over the house. He is so sweet when he wants to be. Today he asked me "Mommy, what is happiness?" Ummmm....I was speechless. How do you explain happiness??? I told him it's when you are not sad, you're happy. That satisfied his curiousity for the moment. THANK GOD! I know as he gets older the questions are going to be more detailed and I dread it. We'll let daddy answer the big ones. ;-)

Home Depot Baby

Check him out! My little home depot baby. He walked all over the house just like this. Serious face and arms out very slow. I guess he thought it would fall off if he ran.
And this was a good day for us. Jaron just finished his first bowl of REAL OATMEAL. He didn't gag once. He ate all of it! I couldn't beleive it. He eats it every morning now the chunks don't even bother him. Thank God he is making progress. Although I think this surgery on the 25th of this month might set him back a little. He has come so far. I don't remember the last time he puked. What a MIRACLE!

Yard Sale Postponed

Well due to unforeseen weather conditions we have postponed the yard sale until next weekend. It will be at the same location, First National Bank of Hall County. We just can't see many people wanting to get out and shop when the high tomorrow will only be 45 degrees. Too cold to go anywhere actually. So please tell all your friends come out next Saturday 14Th to buy some stuff at our yard sale. Thanks for every ones support.

Big Shorts

Caught in the act!!! Jumping on the couch...So fun but not allowed...Just had to get one picture though.
And this is what happens when you leave your clothes lying around at our house. Jacob was CRACKING up laughing running all over the house like this. Our days here at home are always filled with suprises and mishaps.

The Professional

We have to lay our stools down in the floor so Jaron won't fall off of them and break his neck and this is what he does instead. It is so cute and yet so dangerous. He seems to be an expert though.

OOOPS!!! Guess even the pros fall sometimes...

Brotherly Bonding

My two little men all dressed for church. Jacob loves to match his brother. We went to Arby's to eat one Sunday and Jaron was crying and very tired and Jacob wanted to make him feel better. So Jacob said to his brother, "It's okay buddy, we have to pray and ask Jesus to help us.". It was the most precious thing I have ever heard. He kept saying it and trying to calm Jaron down. It was adorable. Jacob never ceases to amaze me.

My little Drill Sergeant

Chris got home from his last drill in the army and Jaron wanted to try on Daddy's big hat.
This is what he loves to do. He climbs up in the bar stools....yes the bar stools with no help. And he loves to write with a pencil on anything he can reach. And we think he might be left handed.
Praising the Lord!

Boys boys boys...

We made a last minute trip to FL to see the grandparents and went to the mall to play in the play area. Here are the boys sitting inside a giant pretend computer monitor.
And here they are sleeping together....what a beautiful thing...sleep....
silly boys...I put this on Jaron's too I know but those pipe cleaner glasses are so funny!

My two boys....

Handsome little men!
Look at those Muscles!
In the car seat after a birthday party...silly pipe cleaner glasses

Wearing Mommy's Glasses

Here's what you get when you let a 1 year old play with your sunglasses. The 4 year old had fun pretending to make a list while wearing these frames. Glad I buy the cheap ones cause these were practically new. Oh well....

Toys, Keys, Bibs...

This is what happens when I turn my back for a second. Jaron has learned to dump out the toy basket!
And here he is sitting on the coffee table like always chewing on his own set of keys (he loves metal stuff in his mouth)
We were trying to get the bib off and he thought it was so funny when it got stuck!
And I guess I pushed my luck with the pictures....he's looking at me like that's enough pictures mom take this thing off me!
