Bathtime

Jonah got his first bath in the kitchen sink. He didn't cry too bad.
And here he is getting a suntan. The doctor prescribed it for his jaundice.

Wide awake!

Back in the hospital

Well we took Jonah to the pediatrician yesterday for a weight check and they said he looked a little yellow so they pricked his foot for bilirubin check. His levels were 15 and they should be 9 or less. And he had also lost 1lb since birth so they put us in the hospital for IV fluids and 24 under the bili-lites. It is basically a baby tanning bed. So we left the docs office and came home for me to pack a quick overnight bag. Chris took Jonah and I back to the hospital and dropped us off. I went in and they weighed him and had to put a catheder in his penis (even though he is swollen from his circumcision) and get a urine sample. And then they had to find a good vein for an IV. Well that took 1 hour and it was horrbile. He screamed the whole time and they finally found a good on in his HEAD! Yes you read it right. He got a IV in his head. Well while they are doing this I can feel some serious swelling and noticing my milk HAS ARRIVED. I wanted to feed him so bad but had to wait until they got finished and we got in our room. But Jonah had other plans. All the screaming wore him out and all he wanted to do was sleep and was not waking up for NOBODY. So I continued to swell and was feeling a lot of pain. He eventually did nurse but not for long. The IV fluids kind took away his appetite and the jaundice made him feel sick too. So mommy just suffered. He would nurse a little off and on all night but not enough to empty me out. He laid in the baby tanning bed all night only getting out for feedings. It was not fun! So anyway they pricked his foot several more times while we were there and his levels went down and we got to come home today. He is nursing a little better and I hope my milk coming in will help him gain weight good now. So here are some more pictures of our new addition.

He is home!

Well I went in Friday morning at 10:30am to get induced. They started my pitocin at 11:40am and broke my water at 12:45pm. I was dilated to 2cm then. I got my epidural at 2:40 and was 4cm by 3:10. With all the contractions coming on strong I was 6cm at 5:15 and just 30 minutes later I was 8cm. 20 minutes later at 6:05 I was already 9cm and ready to push at 6:20pm. My epidural did not take on my left side so I felt everything. I was not feeling real confident and wanted to give up but they convinced me I could do it. And he was born at 6:40pm. He weighed 8lbs. 13oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. He is nursing good and we are both healing nicely. Thanks for all your prayers.

Finger Painting

This is what Jaron did when I got the play pin out the other day. He put all his "babies" in there and covered them up. So precious...

"Man Hands"

Sunday in church Jacob was sitting with his legs hanging off the pew and said to me "Look mommy me feet almost can touch the floor. I am almost like a big man." It was so cute and so funny! So here is what a "big man's" hands look like! :-)

The plan is...

...to be induced April 4th. I will be 39 weeks that day and I am more than ready. I went for a check up yesterday and I am 1 cm dilated. I begged to be induced earlier but they don't like to do it too early for white boys. They say they have a higher rate of needing oxygen after birth when born early. So it's best for Jonah if he bakes for one more week. So we are counting down they days! I will go in that morning and they will break my water and start me on pitocin to get the contractions going. I will be sure to post pictures when we get home. Please pray for a normal delivery with no complications.

please pray

I am so ready to have this baby please pray he comes out VERY SOON!!!

BED HEAD

Just took a bath and could not resist trying out Big Brother's bike
This is what his hair looks like every morning...no kidding....

Nothing New...

I went for another check up today. I am not dilated at all. She said the earliest they would induce me is 38 1/2 weeks. Which will be April 2nd or 3rd. The statistics show that a white male born early has a high likelyhood of requiring oxygen. I want him to come out today but I guess he's not ready. This has been the hardest pregnancy for me, physically. I cannot stand on my feet for more than 15 minutes at a time. My belly tightens up hard as a rock. My back hurts a lot and I cannot sleep without medication. Even that doesn't work sometimes. I guess the hardest part is not being able to do what I want with my boys. I feel like they are being put on the back burner because "mommy doesn't feel good". Anyway, I am just ready for Jonah to get here. I go back next Wed. for another checkup. Please pray for early delivery. I do not want to go full term with this baby. I hate to complain cause I know so many other women who have it worse than me. I just don't like laying around all the time. I am not a lazy person and it's making me CRAZY. Just pray for me....

Long time no post

Well I haven't posted in a while and it's because I am trying to stay off my feet as much as possible as this pregnancy comes to an end. I don't have any pictures to post either. The boys are doing good. Running around like always acting silly and just being boys. Right now Jaron has an ear infection in his right ear. So he is on another round of antibiotics. They are very excited to see their brother too. We are counting down the days.

Jaron's speech therapy is going good too. He has learned to make the "k" sound and is saying new words all the time. He is so cute now that he makes sentences and carries on conversations with his brother. Anyway, don't know when I'll post again. Maybe next time it will be with another baby in the pictures. :-)

Sicker than sick!!!

Cute little pipe cleaner glasses we made...
My little professors...
And last but not least, Jacob was in his first wedding. My sister got married and he was the ring bearer. He was so funny, winking at the audience and raising his eyebrows at everyone. He did very well though. Went right up on stage and stood in his place with no problems.

Last week was pretty rough though. He started running a fever of 101.8 on Tues. and I kept it down with tylenol and motrin then Wednesday I gave him more when he woke up burning up again. The medicine didn't work this time. I called the doctor and got him in and by the time we got there he was up to 103. He was swabbed for strep and flu and they both were positive. Evidently everyone in Hall county has it. So we got his meds and came home. He was feeling pretty rough for about 3 days then he seemed to get better after we got some meds in him. Thank God that is over and I didn't get it!!!

Winter time sickness

Well now that they share a room this is what sometimes happens at bedtime. Jaron's bed is the trundle on the floor that rolls out from under Jacob's bed. And when Chris went in to check on them the other night before leaving to work this is how they were sleeping. Jaron loves his big brother. It is so sweet but just won't work all night. Trust me I have had Jaron in my bed and he kicks and squirms and Jacob would have been in the floor before long. So we put him back in his own bed. They are getting so close lately.
And these are some little pipecleaner glasses we made for them yesterday. They loved them. So cute!!! Jaron just got over being sick. He was showing all the same symptoms Jacob had with the flu and strep throat. Since they are both very contagious and I only took Jacob to the doctor to begin with. Then Jaron got sick. They just called me in some meds for him too. Assuming he had the same thing. He was running a high fever and coughing ALL NIGHT. So glad I didn't get it!!!

Still Pregnant...

Well I haven't posted because there is nothing to say, but still pregnant. Every day is getting harder to get anything done. Walking is no fun and bending over is impossible. Jonah is getting so big and when he moves it almost hurts. I go back for a check up Wednesday. Last time she told me if I want we can induce one week early. I may take that offer. I can't imagine going another 8 weeks like this. My back is killing me and my bed is no longer an option. I sleep on the recliner now. At the last ultrasound the doctor said he is in the 90% for his growth. So that is just great!!! (sarcasm) Another HUGE baby right. It wouldn't kill either of us to go a little early. So I will post when I know more. THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS!

Potty TRAINED!

Well it is official I think we can say Jaron is potty trained. He wears underwear all day long and tells me when he has to go poop and pee. I only put a diaper on him after he falls asleep at night. He even stays dry during his 2 hour nap everyday. THANK GOD. He is obviously not happy in this picture. I took the flashlight away for the picture and he was NOT HAPPY. So I gave it back but forgot to wipe the tears off. He still looks handsome.

My little artist

Jacob drew this. Notice all the details. Shoelaces tied and a basketball on the shirt. Candy cane in bottom right corner and beside that he wrote eggs.
Dressed for church...Getting so big and so smart.
Another church day. This suit is too small. This is the last time he'll be able to wear it. He has suspenders underneath and they are so handsome.

Eating Better

Cute little pose...Potty training is going GREAT! He is pooping in the potty every day and wearing underwear all the time. It's been great! He goes to sleep in underwear and I go in and put on a diaper after he's out. THANK GOD. We should be done with this and won't have 2 in diapers when Jonah arrives. He has also started to feed himself with his spoon and scooping it up all by himself. This is a major step for him. I have waited so long for this to happen. We are still working on the chewing foods. We massage his cheeks to stimulate the muscles that he never used to suck a bottle. Speech is another story. It's very slow going but he is making progress....I estimate he will need it for another year maybe. I don't know for sure.

The White Stuff!

We thought it would snow and sure enough we looked outside today about 5pm and it was coming down. Jacob was so excited. He asked me have I ever caught a snowflake on my tongue. He is so excited about this. I could barely get them in the bed tonight.

Here they are in the attick together. Jaron's reward for pooping in the potty!!!

Snow Snow Snow!!!

Well first let me tell you of our potty training progress. Jaron has pooped in the potty 4 times in the last 2 months. He does it only when he is ready. Usually wears underwear all day long and pees in the potty no problem. He waits until I put on his bedtime diaper to poop in it. I have spent many nights sitting my big pregnant self in the bathroom floor talking and singing to him and reading hoping he will poop....oh the things we do for our children. Oh and this first picture is one of him in the attick. He loves it! We got up there to get out some baby clothes and he can't get enough. So this is his reward when he poops in the potty...And this is what we say "No Poop, No Attick".
And today we got some snow.... This was before we left for church...
And this was when we got home...About 2 inches and it's still coming down.

Last Ultrasounds Today

Well I went this morning for my last ultrasound and Jonah looks good. His palate looks intact. His lips looks great and we are so happy. I can't wait to see him. Only 13 more weeks to go. The boys went with us and they were excited to see Jonah on the tv. They estimated he is about 2lbs. 7oz right now. He is very active and things are starting to get pretty crowded in there. I would not mind if I had him a week or two early. Thanks for all your prayers.

Happy New Year!
